Sharp Blades
Sharp blades cut grass instead of tear it!
Who knew there was so much to lawn mowing. Learn why maintaining sharp blades is important when mowing the lawn.
We Sharpen Mower Blades Daily
It is called ‘cutting the grass’ after all!
That is why we put sharp blades on our mowers every morning before we head out to cut our customer’s lawns.
Our blade grinder is an essential piece of equipment in our business.
Dull Blades Tear Grass
Hopefully, you can see how the grass blades pictured have been torn instead of ‘cut.’
This not only looks bad as the torn tips lose their color, but it is also very hard on your lawn. If you look close you can see lots of dead blades of grass which is a possibility when mowing with dull blades.
It’s Also Important to Remove Debris Under Your Mower’s Deck
Every time the blades get swapped out on our mowers for fresh sharp blades, we also scrape the buildup from the underside of our lawn mower’s deck.
This allows the blades to spin freely and get a cleaner cut. It also allows the lawn mower blades to create lift as they cut which provides an even finish.
